DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS - WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2010
AAT & FAME
1. We start our day this Thursday with AAT & FAME. AAT stands for Academic Assistance Time and FAME stands for Freshmen Achieving More Excellence. All freshmen must attend the nine (9) FAME meetings throughout the school year.
2. Check the AAT lists anytime after chapel on Wednesday. These lists are posted on the windows at the attendance desk. If you are assigned to AAT, you must report to the appropriate classroom by 7:30 AM on Thursday. Make transportation arrangements now. AAT is from 7:30-8:15 AM.
3. Freshmen & FAME leaders report to the Gym by 7:45 AM on FAME days. FAME is from 7:45-8:25 AM. Make transportation arrangements now.
4. We start the 2nd period block class at 8:30 AM on Thursday. Our day still finishes at 3 PM.
If you are interested in participating in either one of the Mission Trips this year, please attend the informational meeting in the library on Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 PM.
There will be a meeting for anyone interested in playing Baseball this year on Tuesday September 14th at 6pm in the Library. All players interested in playing need to be in attendance. Please see Coach Robichaud or Coach Wilke if you have any question.
Key Club will have their first official meeting this coming Friday, Sept. 10th. Our speaker will be from the Tomball Animal Shelter and will have at least one furry friend. Key Club is supporting the shelter this month and all proceeds from the pancake breakfast are going to the shelter.
Come to the next Key Club meeting on Friday at 7:30 in Mrs. Roth’s room to check us out and see if you want to join.
Seniors Only:
1. A Texas A&M University rep is here to talk with seniors ONLY on Sept. 10. Sign up in the counseling office if you are applying to Texas A&M.
2. A UT Austin University rep is here to talk with seniors ONLY on Sept. 13. Sign up in the counseling office if you are applying to UT Austin.
3. Seniors who are planning to attend LSC Tomball need to sign up in the counseling office for the off campus trip on Nov. 12. We will be gone a half day.
4. The Common Application Information Session will be during lunch on Sept. 9 in the library. Sign up in the counseling office.
5. Seniors need to complete the Senior Conference Questionnaire and then set up an appointment to meet with Mrs. Brennan individually.
Juniors Only:
1. The Leadership High School application form is due to Mrs. Brennan on Sept. 10 to be considered for this program.
2. The Bridges Personality Test is due on Sept. 10 during your English class. It is a quiz grade.
3. The Junior Conference Questionnaire and Parent Evaluation Form are due October 1st. This is also a quiz grade.
All Students: The following colleges will be on campus. Sign up in the counseling office.
1. Texas State/SFA on Sept. 28
2. Sweet Briar College (Women’s College) on Oct. 21
3. Concordia University Texas on Nov. 16
DRAMA CLUB
Our second meeting is this Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 9-11 A.M. on the stage. We will do some improv games, talk about writing some scripts, and learn about the Fall Play. If you are still interested in joining the club and getting in on the fun, BE THERE! See Mr. Bradley or Mr. Schultz if you have any questions.
All lost and found items can be claimed for $1.00 at Mrs. Duffy’s desk. There are lunch boxes, books, binders and much more. If you left or lost anything on the senior retreat, it can be claimed as well. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity next week.
Freshman class officer elections will occur on Freshman Retreat. Freshman, if you are still interested in running for an office, see Mr. Schultz in Rm 217 by Friday. All candidates must be signed up, no spontaneous candidacies or third party write ins. All candidates need to meet with Mr. Schultz, Friday after the pep rally in Rm 217 for an overview of the election process.
